I recently purchased a used $18,000 2009 mustang (not pre-certified) at Port Richey FL Ford dealership. After the initial purchase I was informed by my sales person I had a 30 day bumper to bumper warranty and if there were any problems within this time frame to bring it back and fix the problem. My local mechanic went over the car and informed me of a ball joint issue that needed to be repaired. There also has been continuous rattling on the passenger side since the day I purchased it.
I contacted my sales person and he told me to bring it in on 10/21/11 and they would repair the problems. (I live 50 miles away). When I showed up the mechanic came out and told me that per sales the problems with my car were NOT in the “30 day warranty” and that management would not approve the repairs.
At this point I went in to discuss the problem with management (Chris Lynch) and he threatened to fire my sales person for lying to me (reverse psychology); trying to make me feel guilty then proceeded to belittle me in front of employees and customers. He then followed me out the door and told me I was making the whole experience terrible.
This has been the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a dealership! Needless to say nothing was resolved with sales. I feel that some sort of action should be taken with this individual.
I also have yet to receive the car fax on this vehicle that I have been asking for since the purchase date of 9/23/11.
People Beware!! These people lie through their teeth and obviously berate their customers!!!
Gvie me the vin# and I will run it for you at no charge

They are very deceptive. We went into the dealer to buy a new truck. We are very protective of our credit and asked for details on how they do their loan searches. They explained that their system was unique – they only pull your credit once and send it to up to 10 lenders for the best rate. It is unique alright! it destroyed our credit almost instantly! Without even agreeing on a price for the vehicle we wanted, they had subjected our credit to 25 hard inquiries, and many of them to lenders that did not even do loans on a 1 ton truck! Oh yes, and we sat in the dealership for 5 hours and finally gave up and walked out – very poor interaction between sales personnel and the customers. Once we found out that our credit scores had dropped 65 points 1 week later, we immediately returned to the dealer to have them fix th damage they had done. Conveniently, they stated that our “paperwork had been shredded” and the salesman no longer worked there!
Long story short, the Attorney General’s office of Florida took interest in this situation and guided us accordingly. We have since filed formal complaints with several regulatory commissions and retained legal counsel. Since this incident (still ongoing), we have learned of many other dissatisfied customers that we have spoken to. Our credit has now been negatively affected for up to 2 years! We have been advised by banking professionals that until we fix the damage done, we will have a hard time getting a loan personally or for our business – this has been the worst car buying experience ever!
Do yourself a favor and avoid this dealer at all costs! Their are other friendly Ford dealers 10 minutes south and 15 minutes north of where this one is located.
Worst car buying experience of my life. I went to Ford with plans to look at the Ford Edge. My salsperson was actually quite nice at first. The first car I drove had no gas, so we couldn’t leave the parking lot, the 2nd one was great. I really liked it and was ready to buy if the price was right. THe salesperson cam back with a price about double of what I was looking at, so I said no it was out my price range. I was ready to go look at other places, but then they kept trying to pressure me into a Ford Escape. I do not know how many times I repeated I do not like the Ford Escape, but they kept trying to push thi car onto me. Then the next person came out and told I wanted too much car for my money and said that was fine I would look somehwere else. As we attempted to leave for the 3rd time the final manager came out and suddenly the price dropped by $200 a month for a lease. The price was still a little higher than I could afford, so I said thank you, but I needed to think about it. I wanted to look at my finances and see if I could afford it. The manager then proceeded to berate me for not being able to make a decision. I literally was running out of the dealership as people were following me lowering the price. I would never buy anything from this dealership.
I went with my step daughter for her first car. Couldn’t get the financing on the car she wanted so they decided to just pick cars for her to finance her in. The car she was looking at was 8000.00 dollars. The cars they could finance her in were in the 12 to 15 thousand dollar range and from a three to a five and six year deal. When she decided that was hold off and regroup, they tried to set her up in another car she didn’t want. To make matters worse, they wouldn’t return her cash deposit and now have to file in small claims to get it returned.
I bought a car at night. Did not to think to ask for floor mats and or an extra key. That’s just to start. Then I was told them from the start before signing the deal the would need to touch up the paint on the car I was gong to buy. No problem you will have a 1 year bumper to bumper warrenty for a year they told me a certain intrest rate and monthly amount. I was told this was worse case senario, four days latter my monthly payment went up $100.00 and intrest rate too! Gave them the keys back and all of a sudden better deal but was I did not need the Warrenty and still had 30 days if anything goes wrong. That was a lie!!! I have dropped my car off 3 different times to have it touched up in the paint area, not a full paint job just touch up. Then the navagation system button is broken they can not fix it to muchcost for them they said. To buy an extra key it is $200, then an extra $50 to program it. On one of the many trips up to the dealership that is not close to my house, I found one of my power windows is not working. I asked can this be fixed and have gotten the run around and no straight answer. So BEWARE!!!!!!! :mad:Please keep in mind I have only had the car for 12 days or so!!!
