I purchase my 2001 Escape new from the Liberty Ford Dealership in Vermilion Ohio and therefore am the only owner. The car never gave my wife and I any real problems, which we are glad of. However when I did finally end up taking my car in because it was running ruff and had lost allot of power in 2008, I got it back basicly unuseable. The dealership still charging me almost $1200 dollars never the less. I told them how unfair it was to charge me when the problem was not fixed but made much worse. They said they would reimburse the money I spent, IF I would agree to put the money toward a new or used car purchase. Which I was not financially able to due seeing I had taken a six dollar an hour pay cut and my wife had been out on medical with no pay for six or seven months. I told them that all I wanted was them to reimburse the money and I'll take the car elsewhere. They said they already located another engine, mind you, this was before even talking to me. So I said I am taking the car home, and to this day have not been able to use it since I do not have the money the needed repair.

The problem and damage to the engine was due to excessive backpressure that was not corrected prior to their taking it for a test drive. If anyone has any comments, feel free to send them to jimyd@adelphia.net
