I have a 1998 Audi and took it to McDaniels to have the timing belt and cv joints fixed. That was handled, but when I went to pick up the car they said that the Cam Shaft Seals were leaking and needed to be replaced. I asked why they didn't do it while the engine was apart, they said that it was located in a different part of the engine. I contacted different dealerships out of state and they all said that they usually replace the seals when they replace the timing belt. Thats 1. Now after the timing belt was replaced, the car has developed a small oil leak. Took it back and they said that both oil pan gaskets were leaking and needed to be replaced. I asked about the Cam Shaft Seals and he said that was not leaking. You mean to tell me that they fixed themselves? Well They quoted me 8 hours of labor to replace the oil pan gaskets and again I called other dealerships and they all quoted me no more than 5 and that was even stretching it. Wow McDaniels wants to charge me an extra $375 in labor? I can tell you now I will never purchase a car from McDaniels as long as I live in Charleston. Good luck if you have to deal with them...
