Let me begin by saying the salesman was stuck between a rock and a hard place. The salesman was just the mouth piece. In 1999, I bought a car from Harrelson Toyota. Very pleased. We stopped in to look around. Wife finally found car she wanted. Actually the only one in North and South Carolina like she wanted. This is my Birthday present for wife. I asked the price of a car. The salesman said only management can give me that We went in to get the price. 30 minutes later they had all kinds of info on me but i still didn't have the price. i was told that i had to drive the car first before i could get the price. my response was my driving and their pricing had nothing to do with the other. 21/2 hrs later, I was ready to leave, my wife loved the car. after haggling about me driving it, the manager finally gave the salesman the price. Please note the salesman has now made 14 trips between our table and the managers booth. i finally said get him down here. He was hiding in the booth.
I forgot to tell you, I didn't have a dime, no credit, etc. I told them this when I first stepped out the car. I did have a settlement coming in 2 weeks. We finally got the price for which i said "You must be on drugs" We agreed on a price. They called me Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday and told us to bring proof of the settlement and we could get the car. Off we went, wife all happy. We test drive, everything all nice. They sold me the car and will hold check for 2 weeks. We get all finished and they said you can get the car when the check clears. Hold up! You had me come up here to get the car. Guy in finance says, you should be able to take it home with 500.00. I said ok because i am now looking at my wife's face. He comes back and states they can't because of insurance. They have a fax from my insurance company that the car is covered.
We leave and of course my wife is "pissed" to put it mildly. I call the general manager who is on vacation and i'm ready to go somewhere else. he calls two days later, i explain the situation. He calls back in 20 minutes and says come get the car. Here we go again. They spend 1 hour trying to figure out how to tag the car. We leave with a dealer tag.

I get called 4 days later and I'm asked when am i going to bring the dealer tag back. I didn't know i was suppose to until the check clears. Off we go again. They now give us a paper tag after 3 hrs of sitting there. We go home. I hear some strange sounds in the front end. I called and told them what was happening. Can you bring the car in now? off we go again. Sales man gets in car to drive to service. Noise is obvious. We sit in the car for 30 minutes when they tell us, we can't work on the car until your check clears. They could have told me this before i drove 40 miles one way. My real question to them was What does the check have to do with fixing the car. It is under warranty.

I have thought about this all night. My decision. I am going to take the car back today. My check clears Tuesday. NOT! I am cancelling the check they have. If the car is fixed by Tuesday, I will bring a Cashiers check. If not, I leave for Arizona for 3 weeks. We will resolve this when i get back. In the mean time, they have their car and I have my money. isn't God GREAT!

Do not go here. If they have the car you want, go to another dealer and they can get the car through inter-trading dealers.
