Arrived on a Saturday morning to look at a certified Volvo S80. We had watched the Superior website for a month and talked to a friend who recommended we contact Stan. We walked around for a while and looked at various models. Stan was very courteous. We finally decided on a car that had quite a few paint issues for a car that was only one year old and certified, but Stan agreed that those problems could be fixed. We took the car for a test drive and the car drove great.
The asking price for the car was $29,900 plus a $299 "administrative fee". The Carfax report indicated that this car had been a rental car. We knew it had been at Superior for at least a month. Our initial offer was $27,000, about 90% of the asking price. We also indicated that we would not be paying any administrative fee. Stan took the offer to the general manager and after a while returned, indicating that out offer was not acceptable. After some discussion we increased our offer to $28,000.
The general manager returned with Stan and advised us that they were not in the business of losing money and they would contact us when they had a car "that is within your budget". We left.
