l spare you all the other problems I had with this dealer and focus on one. I paid for my car in full with a cashier check (as the dealer had wished) and I was told I'll get my title the next day (because the ladies who have the title have gone home and the titles are closed with no access to them). I neither received it nor know when or if I'll get it without taking this to the court.
Of course, some excuses contrary to what I was told earlier were made up later on, let alone avoiding answering the phone or claiming people are off or not available which seems to be a well-established practice in this dealership once you have a real problem.
I complained to Toyota but they were not able to do much. I was ready to bring them cash and take the check (I originally even offered to pay in cash to start with) but didn't get anywhere with this proposal which means there is some other problem than merely the claim that the check has not cleared. I requested bank confirmation from the dealer that the check has been deposited and received none so far and doesn't look like I will get any.
I'll update this case if I manage to resolve this. Bottom-line, do not trust a single word from this dealer, get a good lawyer before / if you have to go there.
