I used the internet to shop for my car and I went to Edmonds dot com and Carsdirect dot com and used their "contact dealers" form to solicit pricing from multiple area dealers (free service on both sites). Brian from Ferman Mazda came in with the first email and also the cheapest price. He emailed me two prices, one was with the full rebate mazda was offering for someone not using financing, and a price for a buyer using partial rebate plus Mazda's incentive financing (2.9% for 5 years, pretty good!).

Brian was quick to respond to every question and the only reason I did not seal the deal with Ferman is because the dealership is 50 miles away from my house and the idea of going back for routine car maintence was a little daunting. That is the only reason I didn't buy from Ferman because everything else-- the service, the pricing, the attentiveness, was there. It is so refreshing to get a price quote that is just the bottom line right off the bat. They offered a great deal and they offered it right away. They seem to be one of the few dealerships that really understands the internet customer and how they want to get to the bottom line quickly without a lot of drama. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone shopping in the Tampa Bay area. I think the two Mazda dealerships I was dealing with in depth (Cox Mazda in Bradenton and Ferman in Brandon/Tampa Bay) were the most outstanding of all the dealerships I was talking to in the last 10 days as I was trying to buy a car. I talked to Honda, Toyota, Nissan and Mazda dealers and the Mazda internet experience was the fastest, got to the bottom line quickly and there were no extras thrown in padding the bill. Both of these dealerships were easy to work with and really understand an internet customer. If you are shopping for a car, do yourself a favor and contact the internet sales departments of your preferred brand through a site like Edmonds so you can get emails from several dealers at once. They all know you are shopping the competition also, so you get a much better price right off the bat than you would walking in to a dealership. It will save you hours of the runaround most dealership inflict on your when you walk into a showroom cold. Do your research ahead of time and have a realistic idea of what you want and then go the internet route. It is virtually painless and hassle free. I will never buy a car any other way after just sealing the deal on my new car via the internet service dept.

Ferman was a great dealership and I would have purchased there is they weren't quite so far away. I highly recommend them.
