I feel a little bad because the first young gentleman we talked to was very helpful...from there it went down hill. We were led to the used car building to track down our Salesman, whom we told we were coming to look at a particular car the day before. We were promptly led to the vehicle which was priced nicely, however, the trunk had standing water, rust, and a spare tire that had been sitting in this muck for so long, I wouldn't dare attempt to use it. The salesman, who bragged he know A LOT about this particular car, was clueless (supposedly) about the leak. The trunk was slightly misaligned and when I asked him about it didn't know where it came from, "but it wasn't in an accident or anything". hmm hmmm. Sure..Still the price was good and I work with a body shop so we were still interested in this particular car.

Somehow, the loan officer was able to tell that we would not get financing for this $4000 car (despite a $2000 down payment and trade-in they never looked at or bothered to put into the financing equation...). So we told them what price range we were looking in, which was low. They then showed us two cars that were over 3 times as expensive as the car they "knew" we couldn't get financed. Without saying we were interested in buying one of them, they started the paperwork. We sat for over a half an hour with no one bothering to talk to us about what was going on. So we decided it was ridiculous and tried to leave. As we pulled out of the dealership, the saleman rushes out and stops us. "come back in and look at the financing" We replied, "Is it in our range?" To which he retorts, "Come back in and find out." Well, to humor ourselves we pulled back in and met the loan officer. She attempted to make small talk but we were already upset. She gave us our possible payment of $325...almost twice what we had asked for. I laughed and said, Not even close. The loan officer than attempted to give us a list of cars in our range. We said, we've already been through that, and she was very rude to us and basically told us to leave. Another "gentleman" continued to stare at us the entire time we were there without saying a word. My girlfriend is black and I got the impression they were racist.

They wasted two hours, lied to us, were rude to us, and then expected us to buy a car three times as expensive as the car we wanted. They could have had a $4000 sale and everyone would have been happy; instead they got nothing and we got a horrible car shopping story to tell.
