I was making the rounds to check out vans. *Walked into JP and asked if they had any minivans for sale. *I was taken to the back as "used vehicles are dealt with by this other fellow." *Ok, we went back and this salesman announced that he only deals with new vehicles. *But he would help me anyway. *I told him I could go up to $7000 for a used minivan. *He asked how I would be paying and I said cash. *He asked if I could finance part of it, and I said possibly. *So he brings the manager in and we talk awhile. *Then the salesman starts raving about this van that has dash gages that are on when the engine is on, "but don't worry he will take care of it. *Even new vehicles have gages on."

He kept saying I could trust him. *By now I had already decided not to deal with this place in any way, but I decided to stay and see more of their game. *I started asking how much was the price, he kept evading. *Finally he said let's go and take a test drive. *I said how much. *So he trots back to the manager and comes back with figures on paper and it is $13,000 something. *I pointed out that is far from $7000. *He said I told him I could finance. *Yes, I said, but the $7000. *He said the manager probably didn't understand so he would go and talk to him.

So he comes back and said well he had to do what the manager told him to do. *While he was gone, a disgruntled customer said he bought a very expensive vehicle from them, it kept breaking down, gone through two or three batteries in a month. *The nearest other dealer for this type of car is 50 miles away, so he is basically stuck. *When he walked in the door, the receptionist said "You here AGAIN???"

I felt very dirty upon leaving this place. *Not only did I have to go home and take a shower, I made my van take a shower too.
