Default So i have a saab 900s 2.3 1996 auto trans that wont engage into a gear at all...?

I got this car for free but it needed a new engine so i replaced the old engine and put the new one back in the engine bay but the transmission won't engage any gears. it did the very first time and that was in revervse but then it wouldn't shift into anything. the linkage is ok to the electronic switch. any ideas?
