Default 05 chevy malibu maxx?

hi,

i have 2005 chevy malibu maxx, and i have cd player that come from factory, but it doesn't have auxillary cable. i am planning to buy new cd player with aux cable so i can play my ipod. but i realized that the cd player i have right now it have all the main functions (Ex: oil life, milage, ext light, etc) which means i have to use cd player keys to do all this. OK MY QUESTION IS

if i buy cd player from wal-mart or best buy DO I still have access to this functions from the cd player?

i already have fm transmitter but the sound quality is so poor
