How are Chevy S10s ?

Good, bad?
Gas milage?
I'm considering buying a 1998 Chevy S10 as my first car. Looks exactly like this one.

I'm really diggin those rims. They are pretty damn cool.
Well, its 4 on the floor, 4 banger...hows the gas mileage and how reliable is it? I really like Chevies, they've always seemed like good cars to me.

Is this an exception?
