Default Is there a mechanic in the house? I have a question about a 1999 Chevy

Malibu. Sorry its a little long. Help? My car had a leak in the cooling system. The repair shop put in a new thermostat & water pump. The next week, it started leaking again, and they replaced the gasket on the lower intake manifold. Now, it is leaking again! Also, it shakes really hard when I first start it. The guy is saying now it may either be a cracked head, or cracked block. In between all the leaks and repairs, it overheated a couple of times. My question is this; if it is cracked (head or block), is it that mechanics fault? We have spent too much money in the past few weeks to let this go. I feel that he should refund our money. Any advice please? Thanks!
