changed the fuel filter in my 03 s10 2.2 litter manual trans and now it runs bad?

yesterday i changed my fuel filter and today it was hard to start. once i got it going it was running rough in 1st and second gear. it seemed ti get better has it warmed up. at 3 when i came home it was hard to start and ran rough/was jerky in first. driving home it had very low torque and did not have the power to run 40mph, then it did but it still felt low. i think it is a fuel problem. HELP ME PLEASE
