Default Prius?

What does everyone think about the Toyota Prius? Does anyone own one? I was wondering if the mileage is as good as the advertising claims. If so, it sounds like a great value.

Its a great car, for a tree huger lol. Sure the mileage is great, but the car looks so ugly in my opinion. Doesn't it run on half gas, half electricity?

Under 40 km/h it uses only electric engine...at superior speeds it use both engines...

I don't like its design..

Prius initially attracted buyers interested in the vehicle's low particulate emissions, advanced technology, and high fuel economy.

The reason why Prius gets such good gasoline mileage is that the ICE is smaller than in most cars this size. The engine can shut down once it has warmed up and the catalytic converter in the exhaust system has reached operating temperature.

I have read in one of post that it is an ugly car , I think that is wrong because it looks like a nice one for me . More good thing about it is it's mileage .

I'm not sure that I agree with all of you. I don't think the price savings with the Prius would be that significant. I think you would be better off by just buying a cheaper Honda Civic.

I also think that the car is ugly. It should run on half gas half electric. I have a camry hybrid, but the gas engine is used alot. There is a screen on the dashboard that tells you where the power is comming from. I think that this could just be because it is a bigger and heavier car. I know that the advertised MPH on the prius is higher than the camry.

I think it is a great car. You can save a lot of money in gas. And I hear it actually appreciated in a value like a year ago, when the supply was low. I think it still does...
