2001 Chevrolet Impala - what is your opinion? Should I buy one?

I am looking at buying a 2001 Impala for $5995, though i'm sure they will come down a little on the price, as it has 105k miles on it. I have done some research and the Impala looks like it would be a great car. The selling points for me were the supposed 29-32 MPG highway and 5-star crash test ratings. BUT, i have heard they can have issues - just as ANY car would i'm sure. Are there any 2001 Impala owners out there that can give me some insight? Also, is 105k miles a lot for this car? How far do you think it can make it before going belly-up and costing me a fortune in repairs?? I know every car is different and it just depends, but how many miles do Impala's usually make it to?? I'm hoping it'll make it to at least 200k without any major issues - is that expecting a lot?
