68 Chevelle not starting ?

Ok, so the engine flooded, then the battery completely died and I took it to the auto place and put it on the slow charger. Using jumper cables on another car wouldn't do it. When I put the battery back in, it is obviously charged, but the car won't turn over now! It acts like it wants to, but just won't. I put gas in it to make sure it wasn't that. I don't have that much money and I don't really know anybody that can come look at it, but I love this car and I miss driving it. I don't think it is anything major, but maybe somebody can point me in the right direction. Thanks!
