What scooter or segway type vehicle can you recommend?

I live in San Francisco and I'm going to college in the city. I want some sort of transportation that isn't a car. I need it to move on it's own, I don't want to have to peddle or kick up a hill. I live in a semi-residential area so I could probably get away with riding on the sidewalk with a scooter or segway type vehicle. So, I wanted suggestions so I can ask for some sort of vehicle for Christmas. I don't want anything that resembles a car or a motorbike. I want something more like a scooter or a segway but I can't find recommendations. I don't care if I have to buy gas and gas it up or plug it in to charge it. Another issue is weight. I want to get something that people can ride, so let's say a minimum 350 pound capacity? Enough for me, groceries, and any sort of bags or an additional person. Any suggestions? Let's pretend that money is not important, what are some suggestions?
