Default 1988 Chevy Truck Fuel gauge/ stuck at full mark after gas stn snafu?

Was filling up with gas. Set the pump then went inside for a cup of coffee. Long story made short, the pump did not shut off and kept pumping. Looked outside to see gas spewing from the hose/tank opening. From then on the fuel gauge stays on full. I'm hoping I can just pop the bed off and "unstuck" the sending unit.

What do you think?
