Default Help me pick a cheap used car? something not small and comfty?

3-4k
I am thinking of getting a cougar, buick.....
not luxury brand bec. the parts are expensive
explorer (sport)
toyota and honda would be too expensive
because the parts are imports
for 3-4k
not only the parts for toyota and honda would be expensive but at that 3-4k
i'm just going to get 100k plus miles
and that is going to cost a lot of money
! CHANCES people didn't replace the parts they needed to
atleast for domestic
i can get a car that is relatively low mileage
50-70k ish
like i said honda is an import and the parts are expensive
think about it. chances are PEOPLE didn't replace the parts!! i don't want anything small and plus at 3-4k the miles are going to be around 100k atleast
for an import
and parts get REAL EXPENSIVE when the mileage gets there
and i can't afford that
okay TRUE american cars do break down more often BUT think about it
a 100k plus toyota versus a domestic car that is 60k miles?!?!
chances ARE the person who owns the toyota didn't take care of it and PLUS at 100k there are COSTLY REPAIRS
i would have more BELIEF in the domestic car with low mileage than some high mileage
i think a toyota puts more with more abuse BUT as long as you take care of the car and do timely repairs most cars should be good regardless of brand

I understand your arguments
But
Say you buy a Honda Civic
You say the parts are expensive, and that is true, if you are buying the parts from the Honda dealership itself
Because of the popularity of the Honda Civic, there are many many of them around, so buying parts is going to be cheap and easy to find
Your local salvage yards, and eBay

Talk to anybody that has owned a Honda Civic, they will tell you that they have had none to minimal repairs
My 97 Honda Civic had 195K miles on it, never replaced anything except the timing belt
Now I drive a Chevy and it needs $1200 worth of work

Now, ask people that own Buicks, and ask about their repairs

I understand your argument, but you really should look at Honda and Toyota
