Default fuel pump seating question?

Question on 2001 chevy blazer: does the fuel pump in the gas tank have to be all the way seated. it is almost all the way down just one spot where you can see a little gap? I have the lockng ring already on also.

Unless the pump is fully seated you will have fuel line pressure issues. Also, and this is more costly, when the tank is full fuel will leak from the gap. It has happened to me once and it sucked. You are better off to spend the time and make sure it is seated properly.
