Is there any difference between a 2007 Golf Gti and a 2006 rabbit gti?

I was wondering, is a 2007 Golf Gti any different from a 2006 Rabbit Gti? I heard they were both different. I guess that a rabbit gti is a lil more faster than a golf gti, my black 2007 golf gti has just the letters gti in the back, and the new one im gettin has the letters gti with the little rabbit emblem, so i was just wondering if there was any difference in between both or if they're just the same? Cuz they both have the same body style and everything, just different interior as in seat covers, and the rabbit has the emblem of the rabbit.
