Should I buy a Mazda Tribute?

I need to buy a car, I want a second hand one (cheaper). A family friend is selling an '04 Mazda Tribute for 10,500. Being a family friend, i know that it is good condition and has been kept well. It is 4WD which is good as in Cincinnati, we get snow and ice in the winter. it will be used as a second car for me and my family. If you have one, how many miles per gallon do you get?
