Default BMW Warranty Problems- Two CDS?

A leased bmw would not let me eject a cd. I took it to the dealer to find out that I mistakenly inserted two cds without knowing. They want to charge me 1200$ for a car that is under warranty. Since this is not a manufacture default, i am deemed respoicible. Please help.

I have had several slot load CD players and never seen one that would accept a second CD when one was already inserted. Surely this CD player has some sort of mechanism, software or hardware to prevent this from happening.

After lots of searching and finding only a few others with a similar problem. Shame on BMW (or supplier) for such a glaring design flaw.
