will a 1996 Camaro SS/SLP 6spd LT4 beat a 2002 Camaro SS/SLP LS1 6spd? iv'e read that the (1996 Camaro SS/SLP LT4 6spd equipped only) will beat any of the (1998-2002 Camaro SS/SLPS 6spd LS1's) now the LT4 is rated was rated at 330hp in the( 96'Cam 6spd Only 100 made in the U.S) and thats higher then the (2002 Cam SS LS1 rated at 320hp )
now i know that cars were faulsly rated lower to keep insurance costs down and detuned as well like the LT4 was underated to protect the upcoming (new LS1 Engine power rating in 1997 C5 Corvette Only ) then passed down to the (Z28,SS Camaros in 1998-2002) i mean this is gotta be true the LS1's stock factory rating was 350hp but of course the Z28'S,SS's were detuned to (305hp,310hp,320hp,325hp) so they wouldn't exactly be an equal match to the (C5 Corvette 345hp-350hp 1997-2004) as well as underated to keep insurance costs down so if you get one of the very very very few (1996 Camaro SS/SLP's 6spd LT4's all stock) vs (2002 Camaro SS/SLP 6spd LS1 all stock) on the 1/4 the LT4 will beat the LS1 by about (2 and a half carl enghts). from what ive been told and read right? i wish i could conduct this experiment myself after all i mean if they (had a LT5 in 1990-1992 Corvette ZR-1'S rated at 375hp & 370 ft lbs) and (then in 1993-1995 its final year jumped to 405hp & 385 ft lbs) i wouldn't be suprised about the LT4 being faster then the LS1 right? im gonna get the LT1-LT4 Conversion kit for my 1995 Z28 and just seeking some info |
