chevy cobalt ownwersI need assistance?

i have an 08 chevy cobalt. Ive had it since memorial day, and I've hit 3,000 miles. I know you should usually get the oil changed every 3,000 miles driven, but as you cobalt owners know, on the dash it says:
Oil ___%
mine is currently at 63%. Do i wait until the light comes on or gets lower. What does this percentage thing mean? I read my manual but did not really find any info on this!

Call your local Chevy service department and ask them. You don't want that computer to get you into warranty trouble...If it's not ready for a service, they will tell you. I honestly wouldn't mess around with a brand new car and the warranty...If it's due, go get it changed - the computers in these brand new cars can tell them so much stuff once they connect the computer to your car. Also, its a chance for them to perform a visual inspection (making sure that everything is just like it should be)
