1992 chevrolet s10 blazer transmission change?

when i change the transmission how should i go about the fluid is there a way to clean the old fluid out and do i have to fill the torque converter with fluid befoe putting it back on

Drop the pan,change the filter,fill the torque converter to help prime it,is the procedure.
