check engine light on my 1999 acura integra is on?

There are 118,300k miles on the engine. Any ideas as to why the light came on and whether or not it could hurt the engine if I don't get it taken care of ASAP? Thanks!

Hi I have a 2003 Acura TL.

Are you certain it's the "check engine" light or the
"maintenance required" light. If it is indeed the check engine you need to get it looked at right away. If it's the maintenance required light you could let that go a few weeks if needed, but should take it in as soon as you can. Good Luck!
