How to solve a chevy s-10 1994 start up problem ?(i also want to add a litle more...

...info to that question? hi everybody ,i have a chevy S-10 1994 vortect engine 4.3 L v6 pick up truck
the prblem i'm experiencing recently are;
i bearly changed my plugs and wires for my truck and also the gas filter, everything was fine till like couple of hours later the same day ,my pick up truck start acting up to start; it crank up and kinda about to start then dies.i've try like three more times ,it kinda hesitate to start then dies ...and on my dash the light (check gauge) is on
then the ultimate way i did was while i'm cranking up the P.truck i kinda punch on the gas pedal ,then it started ...no light was on . everything seem to be normal after it seem succesfull to start one time .then i turn off the engine and had tried second time but without tapin or punching on the gas pedal, it didnt start. AND also sometime when i start in the morning it acts the same way but then the idel goes down like to 500 rpm and strugles there for a while and will just die after some time my normal rpm is 700-750 or some time 800 .while the RPM will act up my brakes also come kinda stiff and like its loosing presure or something .(its not misfiring)(and its a cronic problem i'm experiencing with the RPM) (but the start problem is there always) can anyone help me please ????

Hi its me again ,i just wanna add that today when i started up the pick up truck it was working just fine so i don't think its a fuel pump ,issue or presure problem either ...because the only thing that its acting weird with ,is the engine RPM (is there any thing related to the start up of the truck with the IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE)
If not please let me know and i also wanna to add that my gas pedal is kinda sticky (as i was checking around the carburator i twisted the cable coming from the gas pedal with my hand and i have a cranky old and sticky kinda feeling ...its not smooth )is that normal for a 160 000 miles old truck..?
or is that whats causing the problem,i'm very confuse and furstrated,so please can any one help ?
