Default Volvo 740 turbo [gas] ,I disconnected the air pressure valve, grounding

the wire resulting in fuel pumps on,? as they were not before,at least not both of them. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail,no help from this action, also cleared or replaced lines, and still nada without the bypass ground rig up. And all relays ,and as many grounds I changed with no results, can I just permanently leave the bypassed air valve as is? It runs good unless the wire comes off ,then its a dead sled! It's an 85 with 110k on it.
