Default Car financing Question?

I traded in my old car and gave the dealership a down payment. They have already sold my old vehicle....... I have a contract stating the amount of my monthly payment and when it is due. I also have the new vehicle in my possession. Now they are saying that the company that was to finance me is not going to now because I'm a contractor and I live in an extended stay hotel. Will I have to return the vehicle if they can't find a financier or is it their fault for proceeding this far?
