Brake lights and hazard flashes don't work on 89 Chevy pickup.?

My brake lights or hazard flashers aren't working. Turn signals and parking lights are okay. I was told to replace the brake light switch, which I did, but that didn't do anything for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
