Mustang gt vs bmw?

I have around 5000 to spend and am leading towards a beamer or a mustang gt.
The beamer give me superb handling and road feel, plus more room and better in snow. but it lacks great accelleration.
The mustang has great acceleration and theres nothing like the v8 bark. but it has sub par handling and is terribnle in the snow and isnt roomy(not as big of a deal since im 18

I was wondering others input on what to get, especially if they own early to mid 90's versions of the car(the ones i can afford). Or if anyone has a different sports/sporty car to suggest. Please dont tell me not to get a sports car because they're "unsafe"
I would most likey be looking at the 3 series, possibly 5 series if there is a good deal

Exactly which model BMW did you want? A 3 series? Be more specific on the model.

Gas prices are terrible, get the BMW.
