Default I have a 1972 Pinto. Gas isn't running from my gas tank to my carburetor....

...Can anyone help me? I've cleaned out the gas tank. I just put the fuel pump (mechanical) on the block. Gas won't even get to the front of my car without a lot of compressed air. Can anyone give me an idea of what I could do for my car to work.
