Default Would you consider purchasing a Chevy Volt when it becomes available in the

2011 model year? This is an all-electric car with a range of 40 miles-per-charge, and for longer trips, a small internal combustion engine recharges the batteries as you drive.

yes, if it's as affordable as it claims...

using 0 fuel would save me a bunch of money in the winter

Personally, I like the look of that car - that's a big reason for considering it in addition to the good MPG and low cost... but I would wait for the first round of lemons recalls to make a decision.

On the other hand, GM has been stalling on the release of this car for so long that the first models are probably going to be very well-built.
