yes i asked my mom shes a paralegal and her friend is a cop its aginst the law nd your insurence agency will replace it for free just give them a call

yup, illegal. Think about it, they won't even let you go with a busted tail light. Its all to do with safety. Rocks, dust, bugs, rain could fly in and cause you to lose control. Anything flying into your face at highway speeds can't be that comfortable anyway, why would you want to do that?
