2002 Nissan Sentra Spec-V.... Crankshaft position sensor?

Checked the code when my engine light came on and it threw up the Crankshaft position sensor... I ordered one and it is only $40... when that code comes up does it most likely mean I need a new one? My car still cranks and starts up... and if so what is the general labor to replace it? I know it is on the backside of the block and hard to get to.
