I went on vacation for two weeks, and when I returned my battery was dead. Called the auto club they jumped the battery, worked OK for two weeks. I drove the truck in the morning, and that afternoon dead again. I bought a new battery and a few days later, dead again. So this time I figured that maybe the alarm system was pulling the battery down. I start locking my truck with the key and not setting the alarm.
Another month went by with no problems. I did not drive the truck for two days, and yesterday the battery is dead again. I have never had a problem like this before with any truck or car. |

Measure the voltage at the battery with the engine on. If the alternator is good, the voltage should be between 13.5V to 14.5V.
Any voltage above or below that, the alternator is gone and that caused your battery to go bad. === Or go to autozone or sears and they will test your alternator for free. Good Luck... |
