i have a pontiac aztec 2001 and wheel is locked key wont turn how do i unlock it ?

Hi There,

The steering column is locked - more than likely you turned off the vehicle with the steering wheel at an odd angle.

Try releasing the wheel tilting lock (on the steering column) - don't tighten it - leave it loose for this. Next, with your left hand grasp the top of the wheel underhanded and pull toward the drivers side door. Slowly giggle the key while gently pulling in pulsing motions on the steering wheel. The key should come loose. Once the key is out - turn it over (upside down) and put it in the ignition. This should reset the ignition lock.

We have tried pushing the key far back andturing the wheel but it doesnt work .
