Default What is the legal age to drive a motorcycle in Pennsylvania?

I am a couple months away from getting my drivers license and have been riding dirt bikes and motorcycles almost all my life. So I am wondering if I should buy a bike now or not depending on what the legal age is. My dad said it use to be 16 because he took both tests in the same day.

Please help,
Will

laws vary by state, but it is almost definitely 16.

In OH, if you are under 18, you MUST take the MSF course - because of this, it's also free if you are under 18.

In some cases it's actually easier to get your MC license than a car endorsement (again, in OH you have to log a bunch of time driving with a parent before taking the car test. on a bike, you take a written test, and you can ride alone w/ your temps - just not at night, on highways, or with passengers. and of course you must wear a helmet).

Don't forget you will be required to wear a helmet until you are 18.

16, with parental permission. You'll have to complete a motorcycle safety course, signed off by your parents, and then you can get your license!
