97 suburban fuel pump problems?

I have a 97 gmc suburban 454 vortex, 7.4 ltr engine, I was told that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. We had a problem with our truck idle. It wouldn't go over 10 mph, rough idling, & not getting fuel to the engine. I took it into a mechanic that did a fuel pressure test, scan, maf sensor inspection, etc. They said that we needed a new fuel pump. We replaced the fuel pump, strainer, & fuel filter. Now it won't start at all. Help!!

did you hook the new fuel pump back up?

Sounds like someone didn't do the job correctly, inspect all the connections, fuses and ground wires. sometimes when someone pulls the tank down they forget to reconnect everything. Recheck the work.

Maybe you should have had the mechanic do the job? Ha!

Did you switch the fuel in/out line on the fuel rail, tank, or filter? Somewhat common and I have been working on car for 15 years and still almost do it once and awhile.

Is the pump getting power? Can you hear it?
