Default Vortec Heads on 327?

Will a set of vortec heads off a 1999 small block chevy fit on a 1963 327? Also, I have 11 to 1 domed pistons, will they hit hit the valves?

Oh Baby! Your combination will kick in 20-35 horsepower and the stock TRW pistons will not hit the valves. The combustion chamber cc's are the same size as the old camel backed " double hump" heads with 2.02 intakes. The problem with the old heads is the intake chambers are only 157cc's. The 99 Vortec iron heads with 1.94 intakes has 170 cc's. If this will be a street driven car sad as it may seem I'd go for flat top pistons which will render a tad over 10-1 compression ratio. If you leave the dome TRW's in the motor you'll be into the 11-1 range, I'm not sure if today's crappy 93 octane slow lead will satisfy the motor.

Last year Chevrolet sprung loose two new Vortec heads, one with 185 cc intakes and another with 215 cc intake runners.
