Default Converting a '97 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 to a 2x4 (rear wheel drive) street machine.?

I currently own a '97 2-door Chevy Tahoe Z71 4x4 and am contemplating turning it into a 2 wheel drive (rear wheel) street machine. The concept is to take out the transfer case and any other 4 wheel drive components, lower it, change the rear gears to make it more everyday driveable, put some DUB's on it and ENJOY! What I don't know is, is it as simple as taking out the transfer case, the front gears, axle shafts, etc to make it a 2wheel drive, or does the entire front end need to be changed out from a "donor" 2 wheel drive Tahoe? Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.
