2004 GMC Canyon 4wd problem?

My Canyon was fine until i changed the battery. When I hooked up the new battery, service 4wd lights up in dash and it will not go into 4wd anymore, my lights were the 4wd buttons do not burn anymore. I just do not know if something happened to the computer or if it is just that i need to indeed service 4wd which i had done about 3 months ago. Is there a way that i can service it myself and reset computer or am i in trouble?

Your 4WD actuator switch may have gone bad. I would take it into your dealer or other repair shop and have them look into it. Maybe it just needs reset since you installed the battery.
