Default Mazda3 reliablitiy and parts maintenance?!?!?!?

I want to get a Mazda3 but I was wondering are they very reliable and do the parts cost very much if it does need to be fixed??

And around how long does the engines last until it might start going down hill like how many miles?

I'm looking into a 2006 Mazda3 but it will be used so how reliable are the engines??

I also have a used 2006 Mazda3. It is the best car I've ever owned (and I've owned a Toyota--that says a lot).

It is very reliable. I've taken it to California from Arizona twice and take it on day trips quite often. It's roomy, drives really nicely and not too expensive to maintenance. And it's super cute.

My only complaints would be: gas mileage is lower than advertised but with a 2.3 liter engine, what can you expect? And I also had to replace the cheap stock tires before 25k miles, but since I've had the new ones, no problems.

So to answer your question: It's very reliable and I don't know repair costs because I've had to do no repairs.
