Default How to turn off a Lexus "Maintenance Required" light in dash?

Lexus just wants me to bring my car back in for service as a "checkup", so the maintenance light is on. My car has no problems. How can I turn this light off?

I believe there was a method involving turning the key to accessory and start and off in some pattern to re-set the computer?

Please help! Thank you!

You can always disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect it. For most cars, loss of power will cause all your basic systems to reset.

Check your owner's manual if there is such a quick fix(i.e. turning the ignition on and off so many times) to turn off that light. However, like BMW's which have a specific reset tool you may be forced to disconnect the battery. If you do disconnect the battery, keep in mind the engine's computer will have to "relearn" your driving habit and fuel efficiency may be lowered for the first several miles. Also, you may have presets (i.e. radio, seats, whatever) that may also have to be set again.

Also if Lexus does require a reset tool, check Autozone, Kragen if they carry such a tool and you can borrow it for free.
