How to syphon gas from a 240 Volvo wagon?

How to syphon gas from a 240 Volvo wagon?

I filled up my Volvo just before it took a dump. I bought a syphon and it won't go in all the way. Can someone tell me how to retrieve the gas? I put in $48 dollars worth and don't want it to go to waste.
