Default inside a car bonnet .. where engine is placed ... plz?

Well hai friends .. i have a doubt ,... i am in a plan of buying a second hand car and well when opening a car bonnet all the vehicles i could see the engine and the ground .. well isnt the car engine placed inside a concealed place like the rear luggage space .. or is it normal that the bottom portion of the car where the engine is "is open" ??? really doubtful .. plz help ..

Depending on the vehicle; some have more "open space" in the bonnet compartment than others, but none are completely closed....room is needed to go underneath for repairs, replacement parts, etc

Depends on the car. You ought to get out and see alot more cars...anybodies. The ground is there for the majority of them. And then some of them have so much sheetmetal cover parts and things that you cannot see the ground. Different cars, different ways of doing things. If in doubt, go to library and look in repair manuals. Or watch at garages where they do quick oil changes or exhaust changes. You can watch and you can see lots of stuff.
