Vw passat 225/40/18 ..what is a tire size up from low profile ?

Hi guys I have a 2003 vw passat and I have 18" rims with a tire size of 225/40/r18 low profile tires ....however I feel like im riding on rocks i was wondering what is a tire size up from low profile.. the car has slowed down drastically and im afraid to hit a bump being that the tires are so hard... someone please help me out seriously and tell me a tire size up from low profile
