Default 94 lincoln tranny problem...?

why does my car not go into gear after i drive for a bit if i shut it off and start it back up, i feel it going into gear but it wont move, like its in neutral. after it cools off (2/3 hours) it works again. any ideas??

Go see a mechanic. He will have to "reset" your gearbox. Basically it has been dis-aligned, so when you move gears, it does not properly engage.

This happens a lot with these cars.


If it's not this, it could always be the clutch, or the actual Gear Box could be worn out...But most likely its just dis-aligned. It's not very hard to fix yourself, but you do need to open up quite a bit to access the gear box....so it's probably easier to give a garage...
